Phil is a mountain biking engineer living in Middle Tennessee. Long fascinated with things that were light, stiff, and expensive, he’s been involved with designing and racing racecars with Carnegie Mellon Racing as well as doing design work for SpaceX.
Phil has been riding, tuning, and thinking about mountain bikes for 10 years, on everything from budget hardtails to 6″ travel wunderbikes. Now he’s applying his skills and talents towards uncovering the coolest science and engineering behind our current bikes, as well as debunking marketing myths that have become prevalent in the cycling industry.
